Haryana 2020 B.Tech Admission

HSTES (Haryana State Technical Education Society) is responsible for conducting Haryana B.Tech Admissions. Unlike many other states, HSTES does not conduct an entrance exam for B.Tech admissions in Haryana. HSTES accepts only JEE Main score for Haryana B.Tech admissions, and the aspirants must have a valid JEE Main score in order to secure admission.

Documents Required

I. Haryana Resident Certificate (In case candidate has not passed qualifying exam from the School situated in Haryana).
II. Category Certificate i.e. SC/BCA/ BCB/ ESM/ FF/PH, if applicable.
III. Relevant Kashmiri Migrants (KM) certificate in the support of their claim from the competent authority or Relief Commissioner.
IV. Economically Weaker Section (EWS) income and asset certificate as per Appendix-J.
V. Annual Parental Income Certificate (income from all sources), in case of BCA, BCB and TFW Categories.
VI. Relevant certificate of HGST (Haryana Govt School Topper) as per
Annexure-XII.

Refund Points

1. The Application Fee of Rs.500/- for General Category and Rs.200/- for all reserve
category, (HGST, TFW, EWS and KM categories) in B.E./ B. Tech course 2020 and
counseling fee of Rs.500/- for all categories deposited in HSTES account are nonrefundable.
2. Regarding refund of fee:
As per the revised guidelines on examination and academic calendar issued by, UGC on
6.7.2020, AICTE has issued revised Academic Calendar for AY 2020-21 for all the Technical
Institutions on 13.8.2020:
 According to the revised Academic calendar issued on 13.08.2020, the last date for
cancellation of seats of technical courses with full refund is 10th November, 2020.
 It is further stipulated that in the event of a student withdrawing before 10th November 2020,
the entire Fee collected from the student, after a deduction of the processing Fee of not more
than 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) shall be refunded by the Institution. It would not be
permissible for Institutions to retain the School Institution Leaving Certificates in original.
 In case, if a student leaves the Course after 10th November 2020 and if the vacated seat is
consequently filled by another student by the last date of admission i.e. 15th November 2020,
the Institution must refund the fee collected after the deduction of the processing fees of not
more than 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) and proportionate deduction of tuition fee
and hostel rent, where applicable.
 In case the vacated seat after 10th November 2020 is not filled by the Institute till 15th
November 2020. The Institution should refund the Security Deposit and return the original
documents.
 The Institution should not demand Fee for the subsequent semesters/ years from the students
cancelling their admission at any point of time. Fee refund along with the return of Certificates
should be completed within 7 days of cancellation.
Institutions not following guidelines issued by the Council regarding refund of Fee for cancellation
of admission or delaying refunds shall be liable to punitive action as stipulated in the AICTE
regulations/APH 2020-21.

Admission Procedure

  1. This procedure is applicable for the candidates who want to take admissions through online counseling.
  2. Candidates should go through information brochure for gathering detailed information about counseling schedule and procedure. Softcopy is available on the websites www.hstes.org.in
  3. For depositing of counseling fee of Rs.500/- visit website https://techadmissionshry.gov.in and click on “Payment Registration” / generate your Roll no. and deposit the counseling fee
    through Credit/Debit Card or Net banking by using online payment gateway. (Remember you have paid your counseling fee before proceeding for online counseling, else your allotted seat can be CANCELLED at any stage and candidate would not have any claim on such allotted seat.)
  4.  The seats in B.E./B. Tech Courses in all Government/Private Technical Institutions/State
    Universities shall be filled against 15% Rest of Haryana Quota (excluding Haryana State) upto
    2nd Online Counseling. After 2nd Online Counseling all the vacant seats under this Rest of
    Haryana Category (RoHC) shall be made in General Category to all the candidates including
    Haryana in subsequent counseling.
  5.  Two online counseling will be conducted for admission to B. Tech course for all the seats of
    University Departments, Govt./Govt. Aided Institutions and 75% seats of Self Financing
    Institutes as follows:
    1st counseling: shall be done for all categories namely RoHC, HOGC, SC, SCD, BCA, BC-B, PH, ESM (with all priorities) and FF of all
    categories with 25% Horizontal Female reservation.
    2nd counseling: shall be done for all categories namely RoHC, HOGC, SC, SCD, BC (by merging BCA and BCB in BC) and merging all ESM (all priorities) and FF with 25% Horizontal Female
    reservation. For the supernumerary seats i.e. Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW), Kashmiri Migrant (KM) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) seats will be filled separately on the basis of JEE (Main)-2020 rank/ inter-se-merit of qualifying exam.
  6.  After 2nd counseling no online counseling shall be conducted by HSTES and admission shall be made at Institute level counseling after merging the sub categories (including female) of a particular reserved category into the main reserved category. In event of seats remaining vacant/unfilled, if any, same shall be filled up before final cut-off date of admissions without  30 any reservation, firstly on the basis of entrance exam merit and only thereafter on the basis of marks of qualifying examination.

In case of SC category the condition of 50% of 20% to Scheduled Castes and 50% of 20% to
Scheduled Deprived Castes (as mentioned above) is applicable only for reservation in
