Admission Process

  1. Kerala B.Tech admission procedure starts with the preparation of a merit list of the candidates who have qualified KEAM entrance examination. The KEAM merit list for B.Tech admissions in Kerala is prepared by considering the following factors –

    • CEE Kerala gives equal weightage (50:50) to the score secured by the candidates in the KEAM exam and marks scored in Class 12 board exams on Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science subjects.
    • The marks secured by the students in the above three subjects will be computed out of 300 after applying standardisation in all the three subjects.
    • CEE Kerala applies standardisation formula for computing the merit of the candidates based on their performance in KEAM and Class 12 board exams.
    • Based on the standardised score of each student, the merit list will be prepared. Each student will be allocated a rank for the purpose of seat allocation.

KEAM Cutoff: Students belonging to the General category must score a minimum of 10 marks in the KEAM entrance exam to be considered for the admission. Students who score less than 10 marks in the entrance test will not be allocated rank in the merit list. These students are not eligible for CEE Kerala Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for B.Tech courses.

For SC/ ST categories, there are no minimum qualifying marks for admission procedure. However, a student who fails to answer at least one question in KEAM will be disqualified for the admission procedure. In all, SC/ ST candidates must have a non-zero positive score.

CEE Kerala will publish category-wise provisional category lists for B.Tech admissions. The list is prepared based on the communal reservation policy of the state government.

Counselling Procedure

    1. CEE Kerala conducts the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for B.Tech admissions. Candidates who are included in the KEAM rank list are eligible to register for the counselling process.
